What?
- Men & Women of (and those connected to) the Mission Church reading through the book of Exodus, one chapter a day.
When?
- 1st September - 10th October 2023
Where?
- In the Bible Connect WhatsApp group
How?
- This is a place where, each day, we focus on a chapter from God's Word to read and discuss together.
- Every morning at 8am, the leaders of Bible Connect will send the WhatsApp Group a chapter reminder, a picture relating to the chapter, a prayer prompt, and every now and then we may send you a short message or a question (the question can be found in that day's chapter).
- We also going to have Exodus 15:2a as our memory verse.
- Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share favourite verses from that day's chapter, etc.
- Memes, graphics, text flooding, etc. are not permitted & no off topic messages are allowed.
Why?
- The rewards are many:
- A mind that will be renewed and enriched by God's Word. (Romans 8:5-9: Romans 12:2 & 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- A better prayer life will be encouraged.
- A form of fellowship between the people of The Mission Church that is based on God's Word.
- You will be trained in truth and righteousness (as God's Word is true and inerrant).
- You will be trained in the Christian's offensive weapon - the sword of the spirit (Ephesians 6:17: Hebrews 4:12 & 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
- And, for fun, you'll receive a certificate at the end, as an encouraging reminder of your participation.
- If you show us a picture of your completed bookmark, to confirm you've read all 40 chapters, and type out or send a recording of yourself reciting the Exodus 15:2a memory verse to show that you've memorised it, you'll receive a gold certificate (Remember: we're all Christians and this is done on a trust basis)
Bonus
- The participant who takes part the most - by reading the daily chapter, sharing their favourite verse from the passage daily, & answering any questions put forward - will win an Exodus mug and a gospel of Luke Illuminated Scripture Journal to accompany you during our next book in Bible Connect!
Changes
- In order to keep things fresh, there will no longer be any activity on the Bible Connect WhatsApp Group in between books.
Awards Evening
- Paul McKiernan (one of the leader for Bible Connect) will presenting the awards on Zoom during the Mission Church Connect Group on 18th October 2023 at 7pm.
