Hot Cross Buns

As we approach both celebrating Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday alongside the school holidays, why not give these yummy hot cross buns a go??

Who likes the smell of freshly baked bread, slicing a fresh cream sponge or chewing on a cookie. For seven weeks we at The Mission Church are undertook the Grate Mission bake off!! Each week there was be a recipe posted on here for all to get involved.

Every family on week one will get a baking tray and every week you participate an item will be added, so bake for seven weeks and you get a full baking tray of goodies. Don't forget to send in your photos to be featured on here!!

Who knows one of you could get star baker!!

Well in week one, we have seen six families take part in the Grate Mission bake off and what bakes we have had!! This week it was lemonade scones. 

Well done everyone I hope they tasted as good as they looked.

These little hedgehogs are not easy, they required alot of love and care to ensure they rose well. Some excellent bakes so far!! 

Week Three

This week as you can see we are mastering muffins, blueberry muffins to be exact!!!

Week Four

Mastering pastry can be tough, but our bakers this week have done so well!!! Don't you agree? 

Week five!

Beautiful light and airy is the key this week, along with wonderful flavour combinations! Apricot and vanilla was the first entry this week!!! We also had a beautiful strawberry sponge too!! 

Week six

You cannot go wrong with something chocolately!!! This week we attempted and succeeded in making M &M chocolate cookie squares! 

Well as they say in The Great British Bake Off it's FINAL's week!!! 

Week seven

I don't like to say it, but that's a wrap, we ended on delicious cheesecakes. Our baker's have done amazingly well in all the bakes set before them. 
​Well done to everybody who baked, helped, supported and joined in the fun!!! 

Well, what a seven weeks we have had, we really have seen some delicious baking. But all good things come to an end so this is our last week of the Mission Church 'grate' Mission bake off!!! But who knows when it will return or have a special edition!!!!!
